My grandmother was an avid photographer, she even had a darkroom in her home and I would spend hours with her developing film and making prints. She gave me a Kodak Brownie for my 5th birthday and I have been taking photographs ever since. This is actually one of the first photographs I ever took and I still remember watching my grandmother make this print so I could give it to my mother.
Easy going, fun loving and usually up for anything when it comes to wedding and portrait photography. I have shot over 200 weddings and each one has its own special memories for me, from the half naked father of the bride in the hallway to getting completely flattened by the bride's St. Bernard.
I have been a serious and successful photographer in the portrait, wedding, fine art and commercial fields for over twenty years and while working in London, I was awarded a distinction by The Royal Photographic Society for my contemporary portraits.
Educated as an artist and photographer through The Brooks Institute of Photography, I was also fortunate enough to study under the late Ansel Adams and Clifford West and attended intensive workshops given by the top wedding and portrait photographers in the world including Jerry Ghionis, Parker Pfister, Brook Shaden, Cliff Mautner and Paulina Duczman.
After performing ceremonies as an elected Justice of the Peace in Stowe, Vermont (my home for 25 years), I decided after moving to my dream 1825 Historic property, to get a certification as a non-denominational officiant. This afforded me a variety of ceremony choices for couples to choose from- i.e. Civil (non-religious), religious and interfaith.
As a former corporate event planner, designer (which included antique acquisition for clients) and extensive work in all phases of the hospitality industry, I bring my creative side into all my ceremonies.
I have performed over 800 ceremonies in 18 years and have always enjoyed the process. It is , after all, "a joyous occasion"!!
Getting married is one of the great joys of life. I make sure that the stress level doesn't overwhelm the joy of the blessed event by sharing my vast experience, wedding resources, and ideas. Your ceremony should be included in this magical time and I focus my knowledge and efforts to support you and help you, your family and guests, experience your perfect day- your way!
As an experienced wedding officiant, specializing in personalized ceremonies that "tell your story", I craft and deliver your ceremony. This crucial part of your wedding day-large or small- is created by taking time to develop what is perfect for you. Remember- the ceremony gets you married- the rest is the result- the celebration!
Together, we will create and participate in a perfect, personal ceremony that will be remembered by you and yours forever!!

My style of photography is based on one simple concept: I listen to my senses. I focus on the moments that move me and touch me emotionally, whether it is laughter or tears. My inspiration comes from natural light, beautiful locations and the love shared between my couples, their families and friends.
My ultimate goal is to create a visual storybook of your day with a magic all of its own. It is much more than portraits and candid images, it goes further to create a collection of fine art images that tell your unique story, by combining natural portraiture with beautiful details and playful candid imagery.
I love the outdoors, art, animals, beauty, storms, bees, the seasons (but mostly summer!), traveling, speaking different languages (German, Spanish, French), reading a book (not kindle, but a real book), sailing, swimming, surfing, climbing mountains...oh my gosh I could go on and on...But there is one thing that ties all these and many more loves together and that is my love of the picture, the moment captured, through the lens of a camera, that one moment that can be enjoyed over and over.
I studied Fine Art at the University of Freiburg, Freiburg Germany, and then finished my degree at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, with a BFA in Painting and Art History.
